I write about the natural world and our place in it - the prairie underfoot, the road ahead, and the small observations that add up to a life. I'm a former freelance journalist and lifelong noticer, currently at work on a nature memoir. Many of my nature essays are reserved for that project; the pieces shared here represent the work currently available for online publication.
